Welcome to Murmur ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the Murmur mobile application (the "App"). Murmur is an AI-assisted voice journaling app: you speak, we help transcribe and analyze entries to surface moods, summaries, statistics, and insights.
When you record a voice journal entry, we collect the audio file and process it to produce a text transcript. Transcripts and audio may be used to generate summaries, mood labels, mood scores (for example on a 1–10 scale), and pattern or insight text.
We collect timestamps (such as date and time of entries), streaks, entry counts, aggregate statistics (for example average mood score, weekly change), and preferences you set in the App (such as reminder times or language choices).
If you contact us or use account-related features, we may collect your email address, support messages, and information needed to manage subscriptions or respond to requests (including data export requests).
We may collect device and technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, locale, and crash or error logs to operate and secure the App.

Depending on the feature, data sent to these providers may include: audio recordings, transcribed text, prompts or instructions needed to generate results, and limited technical metadata associated with processing (for example request identifiers or timestamps).
Consent. We ask for your permission before we transmit Personal Data to third-party AI services for processing. If you do not consent, features that require sending data to those services may be unavailable. Consent alone does not waive this Privacy Policy; we still process data as described here.
We require AI providers to implement privacy and security protections that are the same as or stronger than the protections described in this policy, and to process data only to provide services in line with our instructions and applicable law.
Where required by law, we rely on your consent (including for AI processing), performance of a contract, legitimate interests (such as security and product improvement), or legal obligations.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit where appropriate and access controls. We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law. You may request deletion or export of your data as described in the App or by contacting us.

Murmur is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children below that age.
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy with a new effective date. Material changes may be communicated through the App or other reasonable means.
